About 0-60 Estimates

0-60 times are estimated using weight-to-power ratios and drivetrain types. Real-world results depend heavily on:

  • Launch technique and wheel spin
  • Road surface grip and temperature
  • Transmission type and shift characteristics
  • Driver ability and reaction time

Use as a reference only—don't rely solely on these estimates for purchasing decisions.

Formula Reference

ET Formula: ET = 5.825 × ∛(Weight / Horsepower)

Trap Speed: Speed = 234 × ∛(Horsepower / Weight)

0-60 Method: Weight-to-power ratio with drivetrain-specific traction limits.

Uses Patrick Hale's quarter-mile formulas (proven for track data analysis).

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between estimated ET and real-world ET?

This uses generic Hale's formulas. Real ET depends on launch quality, traction, gear ratios, weight transfer, and driver reaction. Professional racers excel at converting power to time.

Does transmission type (manual vs auto vs DCT) matter?

Yes. Automatics can suffer shifts at peak torque (losing time). DCTs are faster than manuals (fewer lost RPMs). RWD loses 15% to drivetrain; AWD loses 12-13%.

Should I round my estimates for safety?

Yes. Use conservative numbers for brake sizing, suspension tuning, etc. Overestimate drag, underestimate power. This prevents surprises during testing.
