Triple Monitor Angle Tool

Design your physical sim rig layout. Input your monitor size and eye distance to find the mathematically perfect angle for 1:1 scale realism.

Measure exactly from the bridge of your nose to the center of the middle monitor.

Build Blueprint
Side Monitor Angle
67.7°

Angle both left and right monitors towards you at precisely 67.7 degrees to achieve exact 1:1 realism.

Calculated Total Width
217.3cm
Resulting Total FOV
203.2deg

Monitor Geometry Limitations

Bezel thickness absorbs FOV. Your actual viewing angle may differ from calculated if monitor bezels are thicker than spec or your seat position shifts.

Adjust angles in small increments and test comfort during a full practice session before committing to a race.

Methodology

Geometry: Isosceles triangle with monitors forming a perfect circle around driver eyes

Angle: 2 × arcsin((Monitor Width ÷ 2) ÷ Eye Distance)

Assumes flat monitors; curved displays may produce different angles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does bezel thickness matter so much?

Bezels reduce effective viewing angle. A 10mm bezel on three 32" monitors can reduce total FOV by 5-7 degrees. Measure your actual bezel width for precision.

Should I run three monitors or an ultrawide?

Three monitors = wider total FOV but bezels create angle gaps. Ultrawides = seamless but narrower total FOV. Choose based on your preference for immersion vs. immersion perception.

How do I adjust mounting angle after calculation?

Use adjustable VESA mounts or monitor arms. Start at the calculated angle, then fine-tune 1-2 degrees based on comfort and immersion feel during a race.
