The Content Editor is the heart of Lapsite. This is where you actually build out the content blocks, text, and structure of your template.
When you open the Editor, Lapsite provides an advanced side-by-side workspace: your builder tools are on the left, and a pixel-perfect Live Preview is on the right.
1. The Workspace Layout
Lapsite is designed to give you instant visual feedback.
- The Live Preview Panel: As you type, upload images, or change settings on the left, the smartphone preview on the right updates instantly in real time.
- Auto-Scrolling: If you click into a specific section in the editor (e.g., your "Next Race" block), the Live Preview will intelligently auto-scroll the phone mock-up right to that exact section so you can see your changes immediately.
- Aspect Ratio Controls: Need more space to write? Click the "Balanced (50/50)" button above the Live Preview to cycle the screen layout right from the top menu, expanding the editor to 60/40 or collapsing it to 40/60.
2. Editor Modes: Full vs. Focus Mode
Lapsite gives you two entirely different ways to edit your site depending on how you like to work. You can toggle between these modes at any time using the Switch at the top of the editor panel.
Full Content Editor: This is the default view. It shows you the entire structural breakdown of your template block-by-block. Use this mode when you want granular control over every single piece of data, the ability to re-order sections, or when you are building out the site for the very first time.
Focus Mode (CMS): Focus Mode strips away all structural clutter and presents you with a clean, distraction-free "form-style" interface. It only shows you the *Content Management System (CMS)* fields—purely text inputs, image uploads, and data. This is the perfect mode to use on race weekends when you just want to quickly swap out an image or update your championship points without accidentally breaking your layout.
3. Top Navigation & Status Tracking
The Editor features a unique top navigation bar designed to keep your work safe.
- Status Indicator: Right next to the "Content Editor" title, you'll see a small dot.
- Pulsing Orange: You have "Unsaved changes."
- Solid Green: "All changes saved." (Lapsite auto-saves periodically, but you can always hit the Save button at the bottom of a block).
- Multi-Page Selector: If you are using a multi-page template (like 'Racefolio' or 'Studio'), you'll see a grey Multi-Page Editor block at the top. This allows you to quickly flip between editing your 'Home' page, your 'About' page, etc., within the exact same interface.
- Version History: Did you make a mistake? Click the clock icon in the top right of the editor toolbar to open your Version History panel and restore a previous save instantly.
